Prof. Boleslaw Goldman, Chairman of the Board Print
 

Prof. Boleslaw (Bolek) Goldman is board (Israel) certified in Internal Medicine, Genetics and Health Administration and is a Professor (Emeritus) of Genetics at Tel Aviv University.

 

Prof. Goldman served as Director of the Chaim Sheba Medical Center from 1990-2004 and for over 30 years as Director of the Institute of Genetics at the Chaim Sheba Medical Center. Prof. Goldman headed the Committee for Expansion of Medical Health Basket Services (2004-2005).

 

In 2004 Prof. Goldman joined the Gertner Institute for Epidemiology and Health Policy Research as head of the Unit for Genetics Policy and Bioethics and served as Director of the Gertner Institute from 2009-2018. Since April 2019 Prof. Goldman is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Gertner Institute.

 

Prof. Goldman  served as Chairman of the Board of the United States-Israel Education Foundation (Fulbright) (1978-1980, 1980-1985), as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kovens Health System Management Center at Tel Aviv University (1995-1998),  and Chairman of the National Committee for Human Medical Research (2005-2010). 

 

Prof. Goldman served on the Board of Maccabi HMO (2005-2010) and of Tel Aviv University (2009-10). He now serves on the Board of the Moshe Dayan Center at Tel Aviv University (since 1983), Tel Aviv Museum (since 2004), Environment and Health Fund (since 2009), and Yad Vashem (since 2009).

 

He established the National Helsinki Committee for Human Genetic Research and was its first Chairman (1997-2005). He was a member of the National Bioethics Committee (2004-2011).

 

From 2010-2016 he served as President of the Center for Academic Studies, Or Yehuda.

 

Prof. Goldman was awarded the David Ben-Gurion Award for life-time achievement in medicine in 2002.
